PRS, Inc. (formerly Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services)

Established in 1963, PRS, Inc., is the premier nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in Northern Virginia providing community-based support services and training needed for men and women to recover from mental illness.

Our unique role in the mental health community enables us to explore and quickly implement innovative models of service and program delivery while maintaining close relationships with our clients, their families, and the community at large.

Most PRS clients are Northern Virginia residents with severe mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder or major depression. Many have lived with their illnesses for most of their adult lives, moving in and out of hospitals, residing with aging parents or even living on the street. PRS' experience shows that with the proper services and support, our clients can and do recover from severe mental illness. With PRS supports, clients are taking critical steps to leading strong and fulfilling lives.

PRS, Inc. believes its consumers deserve to receive services with integrity, backed with accreditation. This is why we have sought and earned accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Receiving a three-year CARF accreditation means we have passed an in-depth review of our services. Our programs have demonstrated that they meet internationally recognized standards. We make a commitment to continually enhance the quality of our programs and services, while focusing on the consumers that we serve.
